GOING TOO FAST ...

A mass pileup of cars on the Autobahn 93 freeway near Schwandorf, Germany on March 6th saw more than 40 cars and trucks crashing into each other on the icy roads. Can you count the exact number of vehicles involved?

It takes a lot of discipline to slow down. Especially on a freeway like the German Autobahn where there is no speed limit. A good reminder to us all that setting limits has its advantages.

Jesus said, "What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving ... Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes" (Matt. 6:31, 34, The Message). In other words, the wrecks usually happen when you're going too fast or looking at something other than the road that is ahead.

  1. Glad you're blogging again, Pastor Ellis!

This is a great word! I'm seeking to create more "slow" days for me - and our family. But yes, it takes discipline! Why is it that we think we need to fill our time with so many activities, when life runs so much smoother when we can hear God speak?! Thanks for the reminder.

  2. Just discovered you were blogging again. I will start checking again. Thanks for Matt. 6 in that reminds us basically not worry about tomorrow...God will help as needed when tomorrow gets here.
    Thanks
